About

"I am a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn’t have the heart to let him down" Abraham Lincoln

It seems appropriate to start the "about" section of the website for Quotations with a quote. At the risk of offending Abraham Lincoln, his quote needs to be plural. "We" are success and "we" had friends who believed in "us"

Quotations started out as an idea to provide good food at a reasonable price. The same type of food my family grew up on and around in the Lansdowne area in the 80’s. It takes a lot of guts to take an office building and convert it into a restaurant as your first business venture. It takes more guts to lend money to the people trying to do that. So as much of a success that Quotations has become due to the hard work of our staff and my wife and I, none of it could have ever been possible without the initial monetary and emotional contributions of my brother Danny, and friends Joe, Gene and Bob and their respective wives. They got the dream started, and Stacey, my family and friends kept the dream viable. Our financial viability and success today is also partly owed to Nima Hadian, owner of Shangys in Emmaus, Pa. Without his support and vision, we aren’t where we are today.

So what is Quotations?

Quotations is a restaurant with some of the greatest beers ever crafted, and also some of the hardest beers to acquire in the country if not the world. Quotations is a restaurant with a seafood centric menu that combines comfort food, done well and at a reasonable price that families and everyone can enjoy. Quotations is place where you can enjoy great beer, better food, and watch the latest sports contest on the four flat screens in the bar. Quotations is Delaware County, the people that live, work and play there.

So if you are in the neighborhood, looking for that hard to find beer, that crab cake that you crave for, an Eagles, Phillies or Villanova game, stop in. You might find my parents in the bar area, or one of my four brothers or three sisters just hanging out. You might find a kid I coached 30 years ago, or maybe just five years ago. You might find the local high school basketball coach and his staff. I can guarantee one thing, you will find your way back.

Thanks for all of your support.
